I have read that anything but the quick oats is good so steel cut or old fashioned works. For gut health (this is a big part of our immune system), one meal a day that is the same continually seems to be a big help so if oat meal is your thing then that can be incorporated into a regular part of a meal plan. Oatmeal has been a regular part (not every day yet) of our diet. There will be some to point out reasons to check the source for pesticide or GMO use or not so that can be a consideration as well.
