I wonder if we could not do that in Afganistan was because we did not try in Vietnam

One can not mold other nations to be democracies, if those nations are not sharing our beliefs.

It's easier with democracies versus communism, because the later has never enjoyed a successful outcome. Show me a communist country in the upper half of the "Worlds happiest index". Communism is a dead herring.

Afghanistan is the saddest country in the world according to the index. The women and children would want it. Change. But when talking about religious dogmas, many countries are just founded on other values where those in power forsake freedoms and wealth on the altar of fanatism.

It'll be what eventually tear this globe to pieces in the end. Riches, happiness, freedoms can not provide a good enough deal, for these countries with an enormous population growth.

Especially not when our financial systems are rigged, corrupt and fewer and fewer people are able to hold more and more of the values for themselves. Around a quarter of a hundred people owns as much as the half of the worlds poorest people.

Are we really a role model?

Just look at this stock board and compare what plays out.

It's a smal Airfix 1/1.000.000 scale greed template of the real world.

Makes people do sad things, while most somehow justifies it to themselves to be able to uphold a false belief of oneself.

Off-topic - delete - just needed to get it out there.

“George Marshall was rebuilding Europe and West Germany .”

He came up with the plan for funding the rebuilding of Japan and Germany. It was Gen. Luscious Clay that was in charge of rebuilding Germany.
