The issue of Dr. G making that comment and thus becoming a problem evaporates if he has no specific information and he is simply surmising. Which is likely the case. There would be no reason to share the fact of BP negotiations with a scientific advisor. However, I’m sure he understands the industry and the various players so I chalk this up to an educated guess.
