Upcoming lithium batteries will be cheaper and more durable - while others will be much better but still costly, like those Toyota will introduce in their Lexus line-up with much faster charging, faster discharge limits and longer lasting.

But there will still be a market for vehicles that can be used outside of a charging infrastructure. Most parts of the planet simply won't have that. Will these vehicles be hydrogen or a liquid fuel made from recycled carbon or carbon offsets? Hydrogen embrittlment is real problem. A long haul truck on established routes can deal with the problems of hydrogen, but not most consumers.


Until we allow in enough workers on visas from Ukraine and elsewhere to fulfill the need for hotel housekeepers and similar jobs that are currently too challenging for AI, our inflation rate will likely stay above 2%, but I doubt the Fed is going to be willing to settle for 3% inflation.
