. Ho's this for a sojourn? Fly into Capetown---busses and hitch hacking to Cairo!. Fly into Bogata'. Take roads to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia-a stop at Lake Titicaca, Bolivia. I'vebeen to Lake Titicaca. It's a loooooooong way from the Interstate.
I'll ,ention Ecuador again. The area around the border of Columbia and Ecuador, makes Iraq look like Central Park. The movie "Proof Of Life" isabot that area I was ther for a week, in 1995, looking at a job for Texaco. The job covered about70 mile along a tributary of the Amazon. Our bus had a lead and a chase set of Humvees, with mounted machine guns and sever Ecuadorian Special Forces troopers commanded by a retired General Kidnapping by Columbian drug cartels is a local hazard.

Anyway--through Bolivia to Argentina, up to Brazil--with a visit to Iguazu Falls, the world's largest volume waterfall. Back home--somehow.
