Zip ...suggest you read up on Dr Reddy ( currently the largest generic Vascepa supplier ) sometime .
Dr. Reddy is one of the largest generic drug manufacturers in the world, so it has the economies of scale to produce generic Vascepa at a low cost.
They don't breakout USA generic V income from what I could find ....but it's a very very small part of their overall all global business .
Despite what you think ...Dr Reddy as a company is doing quite well.

AMRN can't drop out of the US market until they gain traction in the UK / EU where they have exclusivity . A key reason is because of their API supply agreements. They are contracted to purchase API . These contracts have penalty clauses if AMRN fails to comply ...ie buy as much API as they contracted for.
So AMRN has to take delivery of the API ..... or pay a penalty for failing to do so.
They have to sell what they take delivery off ...at increasingly lower prices ...see Capts charts .....to pay for their next contracted API purchase.
No BP wants this business ...at least not the US part of it
