What you're saying certainly could be true in time, but years before that happens we'll have moved to a major exchange. I believe that once we're on a major exchange options will almost certainly be available.
The beauty of owning hundreds of thousands of shares when options are available is the ability of selling out of the money covered calls to bring in some petty cash. Sure, you're risking losing a few shares at well over the current price, or having to buy back the calls at a loss, but if you're right and s.th little risk. If the share price exceeds the price of your calls, you may be called out, but probably not if you sold some months ahead. With the higher share price, if you choose, you'll have plenty of equity to buy back those calls, and you can do it over again at a higher price. I'm only suggesting doing this with a small percentage of your total shares. When you own hundreds of thousands of shares, calls on say 10K of them can bring in $10K to $25K easily, if you're right they close worth nothing and you keep all the money.
