That was the old AMD under Sanders. We see no evidence that Hector thinks this way.

I don't understand the "customer centric approach" this way. You can't turn your current customers from "low end" vendors into "high end" vendors overnight and I also don't see a reason AMD to lose what already has won without a fight.

sgolds, I think AMD must have something in the 80 mm^2 area. If 256K A64 will shrink that small, then Barton can die in peace. I hope they can do it. I agree that moving Barton to A64 socket is insane.

My concern is that AMD must not give up too much of marketshare by moving all its production to big chips. Nothing horrible will happen, but it will be very hard to grab it back when 65 nm comes.
