I don't think Anavex "got lucky." I credit Missling being a good financial manager.

Your darn right he is a good financial manager. As I understood him to say at one point, he wrote in the contract with the “banker” (linkin park?) handling our stock sales that if the stock escalates by a certain percentage in price in a given period of time, he can do accelerated sales at a moments notice. Up until that point, Mr. “ fair and balanced market” kept a lid on us until one day the super computer high dollar guys wanted a position, turned on the switch trading 2-3 times the entire float in 1-2 days, and he took advantage of it. It was a huge bonus for us and probably THE defining moment that sealed our financial ability to make it to market. Im not saying we wouldnt of made it but, to a financial guy like Dr. Missling, it definitely took the pressure off of him so he could start focusing on other more pressing items. Whether this was a mistake by “Mr Market” or not we will never know. It might of been a damned if you do and damned if you dont type of thing.

That genius design of the contract is similar to him having 3 simultaneous accesses to capital funding as well. He was asked about this in a CC and he said basically its always good to have more than one source of funding in case something happens to one of them, it wont disrupt operations.

Many naysayers here dont give the man credit but if you follow baby bio’s, access to capital is one of their biggest challenges and lack there of normally does them in. If they do make it they have very little control of their IP and normally sell out, from pressure by large investors, way too early. Management exits stage left, take their golden parachutes, and run!

When Anavex is looked at in this funding context alone, Dr. Missling is a genius. Add in the fact that we have/nearing 5-6 ph 2b/3’s running, no toxic debt, and all of our IP, well, he really is a great CEO.

Cheers WGT
