I just watched a very interesting interview, on FOX News. A woman with an Eastern European accent was the subject. She was described as a "former intelligence officer". It didn't say for whom.

She had a very interesting take on the rebellion. She said it is a False Flag, being orchestrated by Putin.. She said the False Flag has two goals:

* To rally the Russian people around Putin, to save Mother Russia from an attempted coup

* He thinks NATO could be close to putting troops into Ukraine. He wants Russia to look weaker and more beleaguered than it actually is.

I'd heard this rebel band described as mercenaries but I didn't understand, mercenaries for whom? This force was assembled , by Russia, to fight in Ukraine!
