A few years back my wife had to have cataracts removed. I can’t remember exactly whether it was Medicare or her BCBS, would not cover laser surgery (or some permutation that made it significantly more expensive) but scalpel surgery was.
I assume the equipment cost more abd docs charging more but isn’t laser more accurate and makes it easier for the doc with ultimately better outcomes. Do you know if this is still the case?
