It's possible that when we see an unexpected spike, such as recently it went to .0007, those are just the MM's setting a temporary higher price, at which point they can take a new short position.
You can't short from .0005 to .0005, but you can short from .0007 to .0005, .0004,.0003.
So while retail starts getting jacked up about large volume days and they start buying, it is some times nothing but short covering.
I've watched this over & over with BOMO for an example.
It would be at No Bid for a few weeks, then out of nowhere, one day it goes to .0003 or .0004. Then like clockwork, back to No Bid, and the MM's sit there for the next couple of weeks, picking 1's off the Ask by the 10's of millions.

But I will acknowledge that it's always possible a miracle could be coming and someone has advanced knowledge of it.
