LOL... I had to do the same thing 2 weeks ago with my AC Jim. A couple weeks before that I tried to make an apt at the Mercedes dealership, but couldn't get in for 2-3 weeks, so I ended up taking it to a local shop. They added Freon and made sure there was no leak in any of the valves/covers, but that didn't do it. I eventually got into Mercedes and had to replace the compressor. $2,800 dollars later, my AC is as cold as it's ever been... LOL...
My AC blend door actuator is going out, so I have the fun clicking noise to deal with. Not gonna fix it until absolutely necessary.
Everytime you open the door to get in you get that clicking noise, or when turning the temp all the way down. Crazy but won't sink any $$$ into fixing until I have to. The AC still cools fine, so that's a plus.
JIm---My college bud/roomie got the Nam jungle rot in his gut----I lost him recently---he was one of the first members of the SEALs---1963/64---told me in the Fall of 64 that we were going to have a nasty war----
Jim, you're right ENZC isn't where it should be...JMHO, but I'm thinking the jungle rot puts you over the top on the bad day contest. Fortunately, mine hasn't returned since leaving the RVN, but few know the pain that grunts had to bear and disregard as "just part of the job" to keep going day after day. Maybe there's some disability rating for it reoccurring...Ha, probably not.
