It's actually not "mumbo jumbo".

None other than Bill Gates has described the cell as analogous to a "fantastically complex supercomputer". Advances in molecular biology in the last 30 years have led some to compose renderings of the workings of the cell which are eerily similar to those of arranged microprocessors. And what has been discovered at the molecular level has turned evolutionary biology on its head and stirred great debate as to how we all actually got to this point.
May I suggest "Signature in the Cell" by Stephen Meyer for a better understanding.

The natural biology is far superior to anything artificial except maybe surgery when you need to cut something out or a whole replacement organ from another healthy person. You can’t often fix a dead organ, so a replacement part is good.

But the notion that we are going to replicate nature in its full complexity with a super computer. Not in your lifetime or your children’s lifetimes. And when we do that, humans will be born out of vats and won’t be fully human anymore. I don’t think that is the future living humans want.
