I'm glad you asked that. Many ,if not most Russian/Ukrainians, came to Eastern Ukraine after Stalin starved about 6 million Ukraians to death in the early 1930s.

He then sent train loads of Russians to farm the fertile farm land. Ukrainians hated him for that.

When Germany invaded Ukraine, at the start of WW !! thousands of Ukrainians joined the German forces. Not because they loved Hitler, but because they hated Stalin.

Decendents of those Ukrainians make up today's Ukrainian Nazis---because the still hate Russians..

IMO, it's too bad that so many Americans parrot Putin's propaganda
