Are you thinking of Ken Olsen, founder/CEO of Digital Equipment Corp? In 1977, Olsen said, “There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home.” However, Olsen insisted he was referring to “smart home” computers, not PCs. (The IBM PC did not debut until 1981.)
