God knows American's primary concern should be the valuation of the companies in your personal portfolio.

You missed my point, which was clear enough albeit implicit. The issue is not about my personal portfolio; rather, the issue is that small and midcap companies are responsible for a large proportion of US innovation and job growth, so you should care about a change to the tax code that would severely punish these companies’ valuations.
