Good we are talking realistic number now: Those numbers yield $200/year in dividends, not 2 grand.

I could get by on $16 million a year in divs

$200 a share in divs is in accord with the long-term share price forecast of $1249 to $2000 a share.

My number was right.

falconer, you need to use that little calculator that comes with your computer. Those numbers yield $200/year in dividends, not 2 grand.

Really?

The year Anavex takes in one-hundred billion dollars, numerically it’s this much:
$100,000,000,000.00

If 20% of that then goes out as dividends, it’s $100,000,000,000.00 x 0.20 = $20,000,000,000.00. Twenty billion dollars go out as dividends.

I presumed that in that year there will be one-hundred million outstanding AVXL shares, 100,000,000 of them.

So, to determine how much goes out to each owned share the total dividend dropdown, $20,000,000,000.00, must be divided by the shares, 100,000,000. The equation would be:
$20,000,000,000.00/100,000,000 = $2000.00

Gotta be careful to accurately count, use all of the zeros. I did.
