I'm right next to Mayo Clinic Rochester and know 4 people who had the surgery there. As you indicated they all had recurrence at around 10-14 months. All were dead within 2 years of the surgery and had about 6 months of life where they weren't suffering from surgical side effects/complications. Terrible affliction.
