#260378 RE: EMPATHY #260374

There is NO AF funding, and even if there was, KBLB has already demonstrated that it cannot produce metric tonnage in U.S. Small batch production in Michigan lab? Yes. Metric tonnage in U.S.? No. Metric tonnage in Vietnam? The jury is still out, but so far no. Merely submitting answers to a question posed does not mean anyone is getting money. IF grant money is made available for research, I would expect KBLB could obtain it. But how much would that take the focus away from getting production up and running in Vietnam and launching the long-anticipated and coming soon Spydasilk brand?

If they expand the lab with government funding, that would be wonderful. I just don’t see U.S. based production happening without tens of millions and maybe billions of dollars being thrown at the problem of domestic production. Would have to scale the U.S. lab up by a huge multiple and find or create a huge fresh mulberry leaf source year round.

It could be done, but it would take lots of money and it would have to be run by a competent team who can execute on the plan perfectly both scientifically and from a business management standpoint. They really need to stay focused on fixing Vietnam first.
