The USA is feverishly trying to build the biotech sector.
The action plan specifically says they want “spider silk”, and that they plan to invest in “moonshots”.
DS panels were made. Period. Why not more of them and why not shoot packs? Because they need money. Lots and lots of it.
Funding a company that has demonstrated the ability to produce what you’re after, yet only lacks the money and infrastructure to pull it off, isn’t even much of a “moonshot”. One has to try hard to not see that KBLB is exactly the type of company being looked at.
