Donaldson worked out at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla., on May 5 and 6, performing full sprints and fielding ground balls with some lateral movement. He aims to ramp up baseball activities during the team’s upcoming homestand, which would clear him to begin a new Minor League rehab assignment.

“It’s going well,” Donaldson said on May 7. “I’d like to be back as early as possible, but at the end of the day, we’re trying to be smart about it.”
