I went to the store today, among other things, I needed to buy a hedge trimmer, my last one died after 15 years of service.

All they had were cordless hedge trimmers, and obviously neither the battery nor the charger were included.

I tried to find on the innernut research about total electrical consumption cordless vs corded to no avail.

IMO it must certainly cost more to charge a battery for an hour in order to use your tool for 1/2 at best than to simply have one that plugs in and requires electricity only during the use of it.

We are being pushed from all sides to CONSUME.

No it is not a porno, a kids film about planned obsolescence. My son must have watched it 20 times, 25 years ago.
