It’s criminal not to give her Direct and monitor response. Of course that would be putting the cart ahead of the horse with regard to “the process” and considered criminal experimentation but it would likely have greater than a 50% chance of curing her. The existing reservoir could likely be used as a relief valve and pathway for any additional treatments needed to control immune response too. It’s not just this disease that stinks. Best wishes.
