Certainly, one of Washington's best defense teams trying to clear Libby's good name wouldn't have gone through the entire trial without pointing out that contrary to the CIA's, the mainstream media's, the prosecution's and the judge's beliefs, Plame was not a covert agent at all at the time of the leak and that part of the story must be corrected for the record. You can start posting your references now.

Again, you show your ignorance of the trial

The judge has refused to allow testimony on whether Plame was or was not a covert agent- since Libby WASN"T INDICTED UNDER THAT STATUTE DUE TO LACK OF EVIDENCE.

The only mention that did get in was in the tape that the jury heard of LIbby's testimony to the grand jury. I'm sure when the case is over and thea transcripts are made public, you'll be able to read it

PS

I doubt you'll find that Libby testified that Plame was covert

PPS

Larry Johnson has his own political agenda and is a known wack job. Using him as a refernce to prove a point proves nothing.

"Anyone who claims that Valarie and Joe are the cause of this are goddamn morons beyond the reach of reason" - THAT sums it up nicely.

If Libby was "innocent" of the charges of 1.) lying to fed investigators, and 2.) obstructing justice, his att'y would have put him on the witness stand and win the case hands down. He didn't. I hope he doesn't.

Apologies, sea, for going OT here, it was all those quotes and sources. i got the old
thought, just how important is it to be wary of singular quotes in newspapers. When do you
feel that you need more? Always .. usually .. sometimes .. dismiss never. Consider these two ..

quote one ..
"Anyone who claims Valerie and Joe are the cause of
this are goddamn morons and beyond the reach of reason."

and two ..
"I never thought a day would come when it was the
women of the family, who would be safer on the roads."

Some would need more on the first. How about the second
if there was a name and location tacked on to it. Obviously
context would fit and you have a bright, sunny Iraq story.

Another story .. AT THE MORGUE

“NO!” cried his mother. “Isn’t my son enough?? Must we lose more of our youth?? You know there are unknowns
who wait at the Morgue to either kill or kidnap the men who dare reach its doors. I will go.” So we went,
his mum, his other aunt and I.I was praying all the way there. I never thought a day would come when it was the women of the family, who would be safer on the roads. All the men are potential terrorists it seems, and are therefore to be cut down on sight. This is the logic of today, is it not? To kill evil before it even has a chance to take root.",

http://washingtonbureau.typepad.com/iraq/

So, How important is it to have the source of a quote? Always .. usually .. sometimes ..

Late thought. In this post no slight intended to anyone, anywhere.

A bit on your reference Larry Johnson:

But, like Columbo always said . . . there’s just one more thing. Unbiased “retired CIA and State Department counter-terrorism expert” Larry Johnson? Here’s what he once said about Karl Rove:

Karl is a shameless bastard. Small wonder his mother killed herself. Once she discovered what a despicable soul she had spawned she apparently saw no other way out. It would be one thing if his vile tactics were simply mere smears of politicians like Kerry and Murtha. They are big boys and should be able to defend themselves quite ably against this turd.

An isolated outburst? Well, back when blogger Seixon was questioning the Jason Leopold story about Karl Rove’s alleged indictment, Seixon said that Larry Johnson wrote Seixon a threatening e-mail in which Johnson “repeated my mother’s name, my parents’ address, and even my birth month and year.” Seixon says that Johnson then told him: “I am prepared to ratchet this up several levels,” adding: “I know where you are living.”

UPDATE: More from unbiased Mr. Johnson, courtesy of Seixon:

Until Patrick Fitzgerald calls off the dogs that Porcine Ass called Rove ought to worry about who he might be getting up close and personal with in jail.

and:

Now, if fat Karl had been at the head of the line to enlist in the Army and help lead the invasion, I wouldn’t be so cranky. But he didn’t, and Cheney didn’t, and Wolfowitz didn’t, and Rummy didn’t and the Bush daughters were busy getting drunk in DC bars. What is it about Republican chickenhawks who played every angle during the Vietnam War to avoid going to war but have no hesistation to start a war in Iraq and send other peoples children into the fray?

More at the link.

Just an unbiased expert, Mr. Johnson is.

I got somethin' for you people too. I made a comment in another thread about getting "11 nooses" for those 11 seditionists, and guess what? I get a hysterical email from Larry Johnson HIMSELF, daring me to give him my address so he and his buddies can pay me a personal visit!

I shit you not:

Hey you coward. You want to try to put a noose around
our necks? We tell the truth and you threaten violence?
Send your address and we will be happy to visit. You
should be aware that one of our group helped track down
and kill Pablo Escobar and other middle eastern terrorists.
How dare you challenge our patriotism? We will be happy
to meet you anytime, anywhere. Name the place.

-- and HERE is a portion of my response, sent just last night --

LMAO! Ohhhh what a bunch of billy-bad-asses you are! I love it!!!

Tell you what:

Go screw yourself, you pathetic puke. And tell "your group" to kiss
my mammoth AZZ. Your email has been forwarded to the Montgomery
County Police, Rockville Station, since that is exactly the region
your infantile message was routed through. Now as for challenging
your alleged 'patriotism'? You haven't got any in the first place.
The only Pablo Escobar that you or any one of your delusional pals
have killed was probably on a Playstation 2.

Your IP addresses have been clocked and rocked.

And HERE is the post from yours truly that set off Larry:

-To: Sam Hill
-Welcome to FR Sam!

-As for those illustrious "experts", I think the best way to deal
-with their seditionist tendencies is to get 11 nooses, and 11
-nice tall trees.

-Not that I would advocate any sort of violence, as Richard Nixon
-once said, "uhhh that would be WRONG".

This guy needs serious therapy if he now feels compelled to personally contact FReepers and threaten to "pay them a visit", methinks Larry needs to get on some heavy duty meds.

A typical 'Rat.
