#76998 RE: Bountiful_Harvest #76996

But as an FSD beta tester, I have difficulties imagining Tesla going from the current FSD beta to a robotaxi service only through software updates.

It’s not impossible, but I find it hard to believe. Although, the “start of commercialization” would only mean that – the start. I can see Tesla achieving some level of self-driving capacity that could enable robotaxi services in some geofenced areas by then, but that isn’t likely to be pushed to millions of vehicles like Musk has promised for years.

Tesla needs to petition for FSD to be level 3 before there is any real talk of Level 4/5. Only then will we see if Teslas FSD stats are really as good as some websites try to suggest. In reality its the drivers, comprised mainly of a collection of the best driving demographic, that are resposnible for FSD being as good as it is.

I suspect the driving of the robotaxi narrative is Teslas way to try to sell more cars. All indications seem to suggest that Tesla is very far from true level 5 robotaxi or even small regions of geofenced level 4, if at all. Musk and Woods, to me and others, are essentually, faking it in hopes Tesla makes it. But if Tesla doesnt it could just as easily become the next Theranos because it spun a narrative it maybe impossible to achieve...especially in our current enviornment.
