Dude, they believed!
If you assume some kind of ill intent, or something unseen, then you’re going to ask yourself those kinds of questions, or make the kind of comments that our friend learning does.
On the other hand, if you assume they’re relatively straightforward, disclosed what they could and should, and really had belief, then they bought in like the rest of us!
That actually makes more sense than anything because one of the problems with what happened was that they didn’t play it safe and go after the adjuvant group and maybe only and kept pushing w new processes. That’s consistent with somebody who has a great deal of confidence, maybe overconfidence. That, they deserve some blame for I suppose.
