I believe it is a good idea for KBLB to provide information to the Air Force. Never said otherwise. When the RFP comes out, we will know more about the DoD’s interest in ‘spider silk.’
Still, I think KBLB has a long shot to get funding unless the latest effort to produce in Vietnam is unsuccessful. There should be time to produce one or more crops in Vietnam before proposals are due late in the year.
To Thompson’s credit, it seems he anticipated the possibility of the production failure at GSS this time and planned ahead to develop parent lines capable of producing robust hybrids.
By my estimate, we are 3 1/2 weeks away from the first opportunity to hear about hybrid production. I think the next quarterly report should drop in about that same time frame. We can see if inventory numbers have changed.
