Yes, I know that. And when their kids get to HS or College, maybe they can. However- not with little kids. That's just ridiculous and very bad parenting.
You can take those bloody "identified performance achievements"and stuff them!!
The problem is the adults, who want to live unrealized athletic glory through their poor kids.
Both statements are incorrect. I started coaching in T-ball and went through the ranks. It had nothing to do with the unrealized glory but more as a love of the game and teaching the kids about it and good sportsmanship as well. Yeah we gave the kids little trophy's or medals like the Y did at the end of the season so they could remember the experience they had.
In 10 years I only won one division championship. It wasn't about winning but learning how to play the game. Even today some of those kids will see me and say how is it going coach. That is my reward.
