None of us are really qualified to opine or worry about the criminal justice part of it. The important part is that people were investing their lifesavings in a nonexistent scientific breakthrough, and then continuing to do so after it had devolved into a cult without recognizing it was a cult. Those concerns seem to *finally* be gone.

You and whoever pointed out the scientific holes in Q1 2020 saved families. I'm not qualified to tell you what to think and, quite frankly, lack the expertise to ever be as useful as someone with your capacity for scientific reasoning ever could be, I think focusing on the "who did not invest" rather than on the fallout would be healthier for you and for society. The next time you're in Disneyland and see a happy family, I hope you're able to view them as an amalgam of the interpersonal and financial discord you helped them avert.

There will be another scam at some point where your unique ability to understand the science and callout bullshit will keep families together. I think it's important to consider the "can I be wrong?" component and to be sure you're comfortable with the risks that being wrong may impose but to but to not let the impossibility of quantifying how many people you helped impact your judgment.

Your views on politics and the penal system could be right or they could be wrong but they won't have quite as direct of an impact on the well-being of those who read your content as your ability to evaluate scientific data ever could. I respect your views on the democracies and the penal system but hope that you're able to recognize that it does not need to be all encompassing to be the thing. You did the thing. You used your background, whatever it may be, to give ordinary people similar insight to those in big pharma when investing their life savings. I'm not trying to placate you as we'll most likely never speak again but I hope you're able to focus on the "what is the statistical impact of what I did" without concerning yourself with its link to the end result.

Looks like he’s been committed. It also looks like he’s petitioning for a change of setting.
