Absolutely! But there needs to be a way to keep the playing field even. When the kids are young- it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. As they get older though, it might. You wouldn't have wanted a Bruce Jenner competing in the girls heptathlon. On the other hand- and this is somewhere I get totally lost- once the kids are taking gender affirming drugs- does that change their potential athletic ability? And that's another thing- where are these kids at that are being banned? Are they already taking hormones? I'm pretty sure that none of these politicians have the slightest idea what is actually going on in the kids' bodies. All they see is a chance to exert more control.

I think the Biden Rule is trying to address this
Any limits would have to consider the sport, the level of competition and the age of students. Elementary school students would generally be allowed to participate on any teams consistent with their gender identity, for example. More competitive teams at high schools and colleges could add limits, but those would be discouraged in teams that don’t have tryouts or cuts.
