2 generic drugs in a blister pack will never happen. That packaging system costs a lot more than loose pills in an induction sealed PE bottle. All the way from filling, inventory storage, transportation and pharmacy shelf space and cost is now the absolute king with EPA. Nothing else matters. Generally blister pack is only done if your stability data shows individual pills need to be protected between doses once the bottle is open or if you have a complex dosing pattern where you need to put instructions directly on the sheet. Opening blister packs is considered to be a hassle by many patients, especially if you need higher barrier backing and not push thru foil.

Ultimately, 2 commercially available generics in a blister pack isn't patentable. If Amarin did it, Generics could do it the very next day at lower cost. So why even bother.
