PROMINENT, REDUCE-IT & STRENGTH trials.
“More than half of the trial participants had hsCRP ≥ 2 mg/L. This criterion alone put them at greater risk of MACE, CV death, and all-cause death, irrespective of whether they had an LDL cholesterol ≥ 70 mg/dL.”

Perhaps U should revisit your LDL fixation. What is your hsCRP?.

Oops, I should have been a little more specific. As a matter of fact I dove back into SWAV Monday morning when I saw it seemed to reverse the downtrend and I couldn't find anything else to grab.

I have been on Vascepa for a number of years now and believe that it has been worth adding to my regimen. It is hard to know what my health status would be without the Vascepa. I am trying to figure out the statistic of 50% dropping their statin after a year. I am guessing that maybe some of those patients are not starting out on the lowest dose. With my 10 mg atorvastatin, I have never experienced muscle pain or aches unless I have done something extremely strenuous. I also take some CoQ-10 as statins deplete it and it is important in muscle function. I try not to have blood tests, so if my doc's office forgets, I don't say a word.
