I would say that football is the wrong analogy. 3rd and Goal implies if they screw up the next month, the other team gets the football and game over.

The analogy I'd draw is it's a 26 mile marathon and they're on mile 25. Sometimes that last mile is the hardest because you're tired from the race. I am sure that after nearly 20 years of work LP is not just going to up and quit when they are roughly a year away from getting this drug in the hands of patients.
