I used to get about two gout attacks/yr. Not fun. However, since taking VASCEPA I haven’t had any attacks.

qq; you probably noticed Kiwi didn’t mention that particular side effect with Bee-Bop Acid? ;D)
Now did he? Was it because it would have made his point “MOOT?”

Folks, don’t fall for fake data, presented by a phony doctor. It’s hard for me to believe people actually take Nissen seriously.

gg. From memory thats a relative risk measurement ...say 2% placebo and 3% with BA....not an absolute risk measurement which would be a 1% increase .
Its the same argument I have with those who dont want to take Vascepa because of the increase of A Fib in the V arm of R-IT ...its a small absolute increase in AE risk vs a large increase in CV risk reduction.

So what will happen is MD's will screen for those with a history of gout .
A bigger issue might be the increase in Creatine and Liver enzymes seen in some ....so for the first yr they will probably do several lipid panel follow ups

I think the big thing here tho is the 37% risk reduction in Primary prevention . There were I believe oaround 3,000-4,000 primary prevention patients in this trial and it ran long enough ...so I'd like to see the P values on that group .
And of course what would be the result of a combo BA / Vascepa trial . Which will probably never happen
