I wouldn't put my money on Amarin winning any patent case with anything EPA related ever.

But taking your combo pill question... everyone knows the true benefit of the 2g dose is the lower cost. Generics know it. Insurance companies know it. So if Amarin rolls out the 2g + Statin combo, and all generics have to offer is a 4g pill, if the combo is cheaper that is what gets covered. The day a generic introduces a 2g dose, doesnt even need the statin, if that pill is cheaper than the combo, Insurers will replace the combo with the cheaper generic and they will just tell you to take a generic statin pill. Statins are pennies these days. Everyone ends up back where they started. Generics with distributed costs happier with margins lower than what single drug Amarin can survive on losing on price.

Personally, I think adding a statin at all is stupid. Too many types, dosages, etc. People need too many adjustments with their meds and if all you offer is 1 type at 1 dose in your combo, it wont work for a lot of potential customers. Carrying numerous SKU and inventory trying to accommodate different combo doses is a huge waste of money. Amarin needs to go find some other compatible drug, still under NCE, to add to a combo and roll that out to ride on that new drugs exclusivity and exclude generics from the V market.

The moment Per dumped the USA confirmed my blue vote. What an idiot! Does he not realize his million dollar salary is being paid by the USA revenue stream? That there are still many ways like increasing the volume of sales to offset generics? Clearly POW needs to go now! Vote blue and support Sarissa.

Tats...Do you not think that taking a single combo drug per day, with either 20mgs or 40 mgs.of Lipitor, sprayed onto a capsule containing 2 grams of MND-2119, (VASTATIN) would be a widely accepted alternative to taking 4 capsules of Vascepa a day PLUS a statin, and would have an appeal for many patients?...It would certainly be appealing to me.

Adding a statin to Vascepa would also give it more legitimacy to Doctors.
