Even one call to Vizient may have elicited a "WTF is this about?" Some companies are very protective of the way their names appear in press releases and they may have demanded a retraction. If so, good on them. And if, by some minute chance Vizient is doing something with Apex, they certainly shouldn't allow someone to reveal the companies or methods that are being implemented for cyber security. Security by obscurity isn't what it used to be, but still, it's bad form to let your adversaries know what you have going on.
We don't know the true nature of the relationship, if any, between Apex and Vizient. It could be that Apex simply filled out a web form requesting to be added to Vizient's list of vendors to contact for various services if/when the need arises. I've seen crap OTC stocks tout that they have a CAGE code so they can do business with the U.S. Military. A CAGE code in and of itself is meaningless and, AFAIK, the burger joint down the corner can get a CAGE code if they fill out the web form.
The suggestion/innuendo that Mark included in his P.R. suggested a much closer and ongoing affiliation between Apex and Vizient is 100% Mark's modus operandi.
