Tracy Vanick - seems to be your main support for being critical but it appears to me she has a marketing or writing background and isn't technically savvy. If you find out otherwise, do share.
When this fine board of researchers finally comes up with a single expert in the industry AND OUTSIDE OF THE SELF-AFFIRMING polymer photonics area, that actually praises what Lightwave is doing or has done and affirms that they are leaders (as you claim) and are being taken very seriously be large industry companies, then I'll change my mind.
Until then the sticky represents where I stand..very very skeptical about whether they are making any technical progress or foundry progress.
