Bad News can be a relative thing. Anything that is not the announcement of their ELD being Certified, could be taken as bad news.
And when Next Week gets here, it will be a month AFTER the Mandated Date that all trucks operating inside of Canada, had to have a ELD installed and working in every truck.
Stands to reason, that most have already complied/purchased a competitor's product.
When it finally happens, he's going to have to slug it out for every single truck.
The big fleets are most likely no longer in the market.

Failed would be relative to Steve.

He doesn't believe its failed, hence why he's always stated 90%

as long as he doesn't accept its failure to be certified, he won't feel he ever has to tell the public.

His big news is probably that he's finally bought the 'how to sell on amazon for idiots' guide and is totally going to get the pet tracker up there for sale soon, heck may even be immanent!
