I am not in the legal profession either, but I rather agree with you. Perhaps the intent of the defense is to steer the case away from “spoofing” as the evidence appears to be overwhelming?

All NWBO has shown is that on days where the price dropped substantially there were a lot of sell orders and many of those would be cancelled.

Gee, you think that might be normal? If "the market" is selling would you not expect more sell orders? And most will be cancelled as they are limit orders and no longer in play as the price moves away.

Just like if the market goes up. There will be more buy orders. And most will be cancelled as they are limit orders and the market moved away.
