If memory serves, Rory got a substantial bonus as a reward for moving the company to NASDAQ. so it was more than just ego that drove that decision - it was $ in his pocket as well.
NASDAQ was also supposed to make the company more "investible" by institutions and potentially allow the company to take on conventional debt at reasonable interest rates. But the lack of progress on revenue and cash flow wasted all of that potential. And now that the company is pivoting into a new direction every 6 months based on Rory's narcissistic vision the company has fewer options than when they were on the OTC.
