It's not parsing to include the beginning words to the 2nd Amendment.

When there was a frontier, widespread hunting and the need to take up arms as part of a 'well regulated militia', the amendment made more sense.

Do you imagine any of the founding fathers, awakened, cleaned up, fed and made familiar with modern vernacular would not view reports of mass shootings with 'WTF is THAT weapon and why it available to anyone not in the well regulated police or military!?'

Also, 'man we could have mowed down a lot of Redcoats with those; picked up their muskets and sold them with the pitch, never fired and only dropped once.'

What legitimate purpose is there for civilian assault-styled weapons that are designed to produce overwhelming firepower to kill multiple people? Guns are tools, and do we really need large-magazined semi-autos with very high power for the general public? Do we need to sell those tools to everyone?

Even the police won't take them on, they let kids die because they were afraid of one. There has to be a limit somewhere, I guess bazookas aren't part of the unorganized militia for a reason. Now that the russians don't launder as much money through the NRA to republican politicians, the will of the people might be achieved.
