Plus I believe we all bought from a major brokerage so it’s on them that if we unwittingly bought any counterfeit shares (that might or might not exist) through them.
Just like the brokerages weren’t going to restore our losses on any potential counterfeit shares all those years when we were down in our investment (or as recently as May 10, 2022) they are not in a position to take away our gains and just have to make it good and seek restitution through the criminal process and damages through the civil process.
Maybe (assuming naked shorting exists on a large scale) these losses will convince brokerages not to be complaisant in these activities.
Also, I always vote my shares so if company management did not discover any issues with my holdings then, I do not expect to hear anyone talking about it now as I bought every share I gave fair and square and held onto to every share through all the false run ups and punishingly bad times. When the price went down or stayed flat it wasn’t due to me selling. Now today I have earned what I have earned and that’s that.
