But once Cognate was sold off LP could no longer profit by having NWBO spend money on it.

That is the reason LP spun off Cognate UK (now Advent) in the first place. It allowed her to keep "her" company feeding off of NWBO.

This is nonsense and clearly Toucan having capital and not having to spend it on an idle factory when NWBO did not need them was a better move and a more practical and appropriately conservative approach.
