#44521 RE: go_wamu #44520

Go_Wamu,
I received exciting news today from Medical University of South Carolina. I qualified for the sarcoidosis clinical trial with Atyr Pharmaceuticals It's drug, efzofitimod, is an extracellular tRNA synthetase protein acts as an extracellular modulator of angiogenesis. An important role in cellular responses to certain disease states in particular cellular stress & tissue homeostasis. This drug was found to improve symptoms, prevent permanent lung damage ,& preserve lung function. There were patients that either reduced or eliminated prednisone in the phase 2 study. Lung function tests also showed improvement in lung function tests. This trial is a double blind trial in phase 3 .Atyr Pharmaceuticals has received a second fast track designation by the FDA. I had to be my own advocate to research the available trials & apply for it. My pulmonologist didn't lift a finger to help me! He was so scared of a malpractice suit. I just want to live! This trial is for 12 months. The drug is given through an IV. I've disagreed with mayo Clinic regarding my diagnosis. They diagnosed me with hypersensitive pneumonitis. I disagreed because I was only exposed to the fertilizer dust once & not repeatedly. My lung biopsy showed granuloma cells. But wasn't able to diagnose the disease. None of the physicians in Georgia could give me a diagnosis. I gave up & went to the Mayo Clinic. I should've gone to the Medical University of South Carolina. Their facility treats lung diseases in particular sarcoidosis. I'll keep you updated on my progress with the trial. ..........
