Hang in there. I just try to buy stocks I like on maximum pessimism and try not to get caught up chasing them up if I can avoid it. But we have all fallen into that trap at one time or another. It’s how we learn what is best for us to do. When I have a portfolio of stocks that are both up and down and need to reallocate, I will take a loss against gains, to get rid of stocks I bought at the wrong time or if I’ve reassessed a stock entirely. Helps minimize the taxes and that’s always appreciated.
