AMC actually paid $1.198 per share for HYMC shares, and its investment has turned out to be an unmitigated disaster for AMC (-46%). HYMC shut down its actual mining operations at its only mine out in Nevada a year ago this month and laid off the employees. it is engaged only in exploration now and will have to buy back a lot of equipment and hire back a lot of employees if it is going to resume actual mining operations. Over the past year it has processed some previously mined ore though.
