Such is the muscle of those in power be it financially and politically, and whose tentacles reach far and wide regarding business and governmental affairs. What will make “them”, meaning ALL, including the stakeholders and doctors/surgeons more money?
That we have a potentially disruptive product with non-invasive means of use with no side effects seems to be immaterial to some.

Aside from monies being an issue for BIEL currently… should the 975,000 blossom into something bigger, we would be well advised to hire a lobbyist and get into the club.
If one is not involved in the political end of things in some way, others will get the prize no matter how superior a product one may have.
