#203260 RE: rocketeer357 #203259

Well I think the mets need a bye as well. I don't want to see the dodgers in the 2nd round than possible have to go atlanta in the 3rd, and the mets have never hit Darvish, so no guarantee they would get through SDP. And if they do get though SDP with the way the system is done, they wouldn't have degromm or scherzer twice in a 5 game series against the dodgers and Might have like walker or carrasco starting game 1. Can't be afraid of them breaking down (Not saying it can't happen), but can't think like that. As for scherzer he broke down last year because they tried to keep pitching him on short rest I believe which was a factor, mets shouldn't do that with either.

Beisdes I am a huge fan of bassitt, and feel he has been very undersold in this rotation. he is really good. I happen to believe there is a bigger dropoff after bassitt to walker or carrasco, than there is from scherzer and Degrom to Bassitt. So I really feel very confident in the mets when they have the three main guys on the mound.

End of the day want to avoid both the dodgers and the braves, would like to play 1 less round, and would like to have the rotation set up, if mets win 2/3 in Atlanta, the division should essentially be theres very easily.

Lost in the shuffle though marte going down has been a huge loss.

As for Baty he has huge potential, but remember had very little time at triple A and before he got hurt, his at bats starting looking like he was about to come around. But escobar is a proven player, and I love the signing when they did it in the offseason, but he has been a disaster most of the year, but a huge help in september. Hopefully he can carry that into the playoffs.

However marte still be out with this finger is a huge issue in my opinion. He is there best hitter against lefties, and one of there better players. Hopefully he gets back for the playoffs, but I'm starting to wonder at this point. Thiought he would be back by the atlanta series, and he doesn't look like he is going to be.
