As I have said before when people complained about the program, it’s not being set-up to pick winners and losers and fund them. It’s about how the agencies work and how researchers collaborate and eliminating things that keep data from being shared so that efforts are not duplicated and the large resources are not wasted in vanity projects. It’s about reforms, including things coming about at NIH and FDA to accelerate processes and coordinate better. That includes advancing reforms via the 21st Century Cures Act. It’s about ensuring that the entire field progresses, not any one particular company.
There is nothing negative about the moonshot nor that it is not picking any winners, but when a winner comes through a program, like the new programs at the FDA that have been put into place and which Richard Pazdur manages especially through the Oncology Center of Excellence, programs which NWBO likely has and will quietly benefit from, including things like the external control arms and real world data, then that is and has been very valuable to these efforts.
